Information Sent Directly
Search Terms
A name or location entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Cherokee County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider controls its own data practices. An official Cherokee JailList, county NextRequest, or court portal is governed by that agency's own privacy and access rules after a visitor leaves this resource.
Messages and Submissions
An email or contact message may be retained so a reply can be made. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is needed to provide the requested response, comply with law, or protect rights and safety. Do not send sensitive personal details that are not needed for the question.
Technical Data Collected
Like most web services, a page request may create ordinary technical records such as:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on each
- Referring page, when available
- Date and time stamps
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the resource and keep features working. Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Some features may respond differently when they are blocked. Advertising or analytics partners can use their own technologies under their own notices.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to:
- Keep the resource available, secure, and responsive.
- Send a search request to the appropriate partner service.
- Understand which pages are useful to visitors.
- Find errors and resolve technical problems.
- Display advertising that may relate to a visitor's interests.
Links to Other Services
Pages may link to the Cherokee Sheriff's JailList, the sheriff's records route, county request portals, city police departments, the Clerk of Courts, GDC, federal locators, news outlets, and other services. Once a visitor follows an outbound link, the destination's privacy notice controls. Cherokee County agencies and private publishers set their own retention, cookie, and contact practices.
Some advertising partners may track activity across different websites to tailor advertisements. That tracking occurs on their systems and is governed by their terms, not by this resource's page code alone.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold by Cherokee County Busted Mugshots. It may be available to the following categories when needed for the functions described above:
- Search partners that process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that report page use.
- Advertising networks and their service vendors.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies responding to a valid legal order or legal duty.
Security Limits
Reasonable, commonly used security steps are taken, but no internet-connected system is completely secure. Transmission, storage, and third-party services can carry risks. No promise is made that a system will be breach-proof.
Visitors Under 18
The resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor has sent personal data, a parent or guardian may use the contact route to request deletion of that submission.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable verification, a person may ask to:
- Receive a copy of personal data held about that person.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of information that can lawfully be removed.
- Object to or limit certain processing.
Requests can be sent through Contact Us. Rights may not apply to information held by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office, courts, city departments, GDC, or another linked provider. Those requests must go to the record custodian.
Notice Changes
This Privacy Notice may be revised when practices, providers, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after posting means the revised notice applies to future use.
